Ukrainian children's book makes it to the list of world's best
The book "The war that changed Rondo" a joint publication of ‘The Stariy Lev publishers’ and creative workshops Agrafka has been included in the catalog and directory site of the international community Picturebook Makers, which compiles and features children's best picture books by authors from around the world.
"To be part of this community for artist books – is just like to be listed in the Forbes magazine as one of the top businessmen globally. Simply it is the crème de la crème of the world! We are very happy!" - commented the illustrator-authors Roman Romanishyn and Andrew Lesiv, whose Cultprostir has founded and established the creative workshop Agrafka.
The book "The war that changed Rondo" illustrates the story of the city in which tender and vulnerable creatures live. The main characters are three friends - Danko, Zirka (Star) and Fabiyan. The peace and harmony of the town is shattered one day by sudden onset of war. Woes always come unexpectedly, no one ever knew what war was and least expected it to happen, the sudden war brings troubles and worries for every citizen of Rondo. How the three friends face the unexpected events is the crux of the wonderful tale that is told in the book “The War that changed Rondo”.
NATO to strengthen partnership with Ukraine
Alliance members would provide Ukraine practical, tactical and political support.
The Alliance will continue to provide practical, operational and political support to Ukraine. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg while speaking to media on Thursday, 25th of May.
"Most of the NATO member countries favor continued cooperation with Ukraine in many spheres and the Alliance supports the fact that we continue to strengthen our partnership with Ukraine, in the form of practical, tactical and political support", - Mr. Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels.
NATO Secretary-General also informed that Allies expressed full support to the Minsk agreement and stressed the need for its complete implementation, especially from the Russian side. Its implementation is a way forward towards peace and dialogue in the Donbas region. NATO member countries also emphasized that free and unrestricted access should be allowed to all international observers stationed in the occupied regions of Luhansk and Donetsk oblast (ORLDO).
Ukraine gradually moves to European standards
1,50,000 Ukrainian babies born in 2016 were given their birth documents as per European standards. This comprises almost 40 percent of all births last year. The information was shared by Minister of Justice Pavlo Petrenko during the question hour in the Ukrainian parliament.
He noted that in nearly 500 hospitals child's birth certificate is made available the same day or within 24 hours of birth, also the maternity hospitals are now equipped to provide and carry out all registration formalities connected with delivery and childbirth.
8500 Ukrainian couples utilize the service and concept of "Marriage in a day"
The Justice Minister of Ukraine, Pavlo Petrenko was visibly happy in informing the parliamentarians that 8500 Ukrainian couples had availed the new state service “Marriage in a day”. The service has been offered to willing couples since 2015 and is operational in 35 cities of Ukraine.
“No queues, no bureaucratic interference, no official delay, online marriage registration ensures simple, quick and hassle free completion of all the registration formalities in the online mode. The figures are very encouraging and what’s more, the divorce rate of the couple registering their marriage online is only 0.3% ... This is ten times less than the total statistics of divorce in the country" - said the Minister.
According to the usual marriage registration procedure, at least one month is required between the submission of the application and registration of marriage.
Mr. Petrenko further informed that more than 23,000 couples had so far utilized the online service for various marriage-related issues, which is a welcome step in the right direction.
Ukrainian athletes win the finals of the World Cup
Ukrainian canoeists Kichasova Maria and Anastasia Gorlova won gold medals in the 200 meters race f world canoeing competition. The pair claimed the first place and emerged winners in the finals of the World Cup.
This was reported by the Federation of canoeing of Ukraine. It further said that Ukrainian athletes took the first position from the start and kept the lead to the finish.
Also, another Ukrainian athlete Oleg Kuharyk won the bronze medal at the same World Cup in the 500 meters race, giving the sports lovers’ additional reason to cheer about for the success of Ukrainian athletes in the world cup of canoeing.

The steady growth of the automobile industry in Ukraine and increasing demand for Mitsubishi cars in the country has made the top management of Mitsubishi Motors’ to consider setting up a car assembly plant in Ukraine.
The head of the Japanese automobile giant Osamu Masuko said that in an interview in the magazine Autonews. In addition, Masuko announced the premiere and sale of a new sports crossover ‘Eclipse Cross’ in Ukraine. It is expected that the car will be launched in the Ukrainian market at the beginning of the next year that is in 2018.
